About me
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist specialising in work with people aged five to eighteen who have experienced life differently to their peers. This can be due to neurodiversity, physical difficulties, an early parental death or a host of other experiences. I focus on nurturing the psychological wellbeing of children and young people, using the knowledge that I have gained working in the education and mental health sector for over twenty years.

I completed my clinical training at Birkbeck University and am an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I have recently worked at a neurodiversity affirming charity, where I specialised in work with children and young people who are neurodiverse or live with someone who is.
I understand that engaging in therapy can be a daunting process for both the child and their parent/s, carer/s. I strive to create a safe and thoughtful space for all ages, using a play-based approach for younger children and teens who struggle to articulate their feelings as well as talking therapy. All my clients are encouraged to take the lead in the space, guiding me to the areas they want to explore. I aim to create a warm, inclusive, and non-judgmental space where young people feel heard, respected, and supported. Through a collaborative and empathic relationship, I help them explore their emotions, strengthen their sense of self, and develop coping strategies.
I deliver in-person therapy sessions to children in SE1 in London.

About my Training
I hold a Masters of Science in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy with Child and Adolescents which is accredited by the BACP. I was also required to undergo therapy with a counsellor, enabling me to gain further insight into myself and experience what it feels like to be on the receiving end of therapy.
As well as my Master’s, I have a professional Development Certificate from London Metropolitan University in Therapeutic Communication Skills and a Masters of Education from Harvard University.
What does accreditation mean?
I am individually accredited by the BACP; this means I have met the BACP higher standard as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner. I follow the BACP ethical framework.

What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy, or “talk therapy,” is a collaboration between a trained professional and the client. It involves the client sharing their thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviours in a safe and supportive environment with the trained professional. The goal is to understand the root causes of distress, alleviate symptoms, and develop healthier coping skills over time.
How does it work with children?
Psychodynamic psychotherapy for children is a therapeutic approach that explores how a child’s inner emotional world, unconscious conflicts, and past experiences shape their current behaviour. Rather than focusing on changing actions, the therapy aims to help children safely express and process difficult feelings through play or talk, ultimately reducing symptoms and emotional distress.
